The Industrial Committee continues to have a strong group of participants and retains a very large roster of representatives from the governmental, industrial, and consultancy communities.  The Industrial Committee is focused on bringing together a diverse group of water professionals to plan and coordinate the annual GAWP Industrial Conference and Expo.

Ten committee meetings were held during the year with an average attendance of 23 people per meeting.   Excellent committee meetings were held at the Georgia Water and Wastewater Institute in Carrollton, Fieldale Farms in Murrayville, Savannah Harbor ReOxygentation Demo Project in Savannah, and Georgia Power Plant Wansley in Lowell.  The meeting at Plant Wansley was the 17th annual meeting held at the facility, and was attended by 35 committee members.

The Annual Industrial Conference occurred on March 18 and 19, 2008 and was conducted under the theme "Water Resources for Georgia Industries". The Conference was moved to the conference facilities at Callaway Gardens, this be after 17 consecutive years of being held in Metro Atlanta.  The venue at Callaway Gardens proved very successful, even in a non-certification year, with 365 attendees and 36 exhibitors. The survey of conference attendees provided great feedback for the committee and made for an easy decision to go back to Callaway Gardens for the 2009 conference.  The conference program was excellent and the committee was lucky to have had such a positive response to a call for abstracts.  An International Track was added to the conference featuring presentations from Israel and Australia.  The International Track was an excellent addition to the conference and highlighted efforts being taken in other countries to address drought and growing water resource demands and pressures.  The International Track is likely to be seen at future Industrial Conferences.
